Bello from Perth, Western Australia the world most isolated city in the world with a population over 2m.

Most of my flights are leaving Perth to Asia.
Regularly use QFF and Velocity.

Also occasional use Aeroplan if the points were good value.

Best redemption on Aeroplan was 190,000 points in BC for two people. Perth to Taipei with stopover mandatory stopover in Singapore and optional stopover Kuala Lumpur. Note on old redemption program were this flight used to be 45,000 each way without stopover. 5k for optional stopover.

For QFF users out of Perth
For Perth Malaysian Airlines provides great value with low surcharge for QFF users flying BC. Avoid the 737 which fly during the day but occasional at night. Best to fly the A330 NEO or A333. Note the A332 although is super old and never had a refit has a similar BC staff the A330 NEO and A333. This technically means a better staff to seat ratio.
Cathay Pacific is a better airline but has a higher surcharge for QFF users.

Aeroplan
Book 11 to 12 months in advance to get Singapore Airlines
Book a few months out you can normally find Thai Airlines
Book a month out you might be able to find ANA

Out of Perth Thai in BC gives a proper 5 course meal with an additional meal before landing in Bangkok. From Bangkok its a two course meal with an additional meal and desert before landing. So strictly speaking 4 courses. I have always found the service from Perth to Bangkok a lot better than Bangkok to Perth.
Note you can do 8 hours check in at Bangkok Suvarnbhumi Airport but this does not apply to morning flights if you want bc tag. The business class check in counter at Bangkok Suvarnbhumi Airport technically closes around 1-2am and reopen around 4:30am-5am. Note this is not reported anywhere on their website. (note this excludes any flight that leave during this time a seperate counter will be open). Bangkok to Perth flight is 7:30am. You can decide to check in using the self service check in but you will not get priorty tags. Also the Thai lounge is closed from 2am to 5am. This was a similar issue in Penang were the lounge opened 1 hour after check in time for Thai Airlines flight. Note Penang is 2.5 hours check in.
