Hi all,

Is anyone aware of a "behind the scenes" experience at Sydney Airport for children? I understand that Airside Tarmac Tours are now gone but am looking for a suitable alternative for primary aged children that gives a taste of the various tasks involved in operation (baggage, security, etc).

Is this no longer even concievable in a post 9/11 world?

Many thanks

Unfortunately there's nothing like that available at SYD no :(

If they get on the Jnr Master Chef program they may have a behind the scenes view of the F Lounge kitchen and Alan's TV stardom

I wonder if there is anything like that at MEL?

There is a tour for the schools of the QF Maintenance facility every week, in Sydney it may be possible to at least look at the museum, I would also approach the Bureau of Meteorology about getting a look at their weather station, the way observations and balloons are done would be of interest.

About 20 years ago my scout group had an airline meal at Qantas Catering. You could enquire if they still do this as part of their training.

I when up the cairns tower with a scout group. So discussions later suggested that it was possible to call a tower direct to have a tour.

You could try calling Qantas Head Office to see if they can arrangement something. Other Qantas Contacts
