Hey Team...

So, Just booked a trip for me and 3 mates to Adl-DWN-Cairns-Adl.

Unfortunately, Dwn-Cairns-Adl all have to be in DeathStar, as the number of daily flights are beyond a joke ridiculously low.

Regardless, Adl to Dwn is on QF... thank goodness.

So, in the spirit of that, I want to request a QFF upgrade for Adl to Dwn so I can get some level of comfort.

Now, the retarded QF website is saying, on the same line:
"An upgrade request is for all passengers. Only eligible family members can be upgraded."

Now,
1. there are no family members on my booking.
2. The details are:

[TH]
[/TH]
[TH]From[/TH]
[TH]To[/TH]
[TH]Required[/TH]
[TH]Upgrade Status[/TH]

Saturday
09 Nov 13

Adelaide
Darwin
Upgrade to: Business
Points: 64,000

This seems to be 16,000 * 4 = 64,000.

3. The javascript link on "Request Upgrade" is '64000,0,Business,Request Upgrade'" (or there about).

Can I request an upgrade just for myself? What is going on? Why is the website so ridiculously poorly worded?

Cheers

Ring Qantas split the booking into two - then upgrade yourself **on second thought not sure if they can do it with deathstar....but ring and ask

Cheers for the workaround.

What a retarded website though - "Only family members can be upgraded" .... "To upgrade this booking, you must upgrade everyone".

!?

"Only family members can be upgraded"!?

That's just the standard exclusion on using points for anyone other than yourself or family members. Of course if your mates were also your long-lost third cousins there'd be no problem.

So, why does it (seem to) let me upgrade them with the press of a button?

I'll have to ring Qantas today, because this online upgrade process is beyond a joke retarded. What a waste of my time.

Time I could better spend posting on forums, for example....

It doesn't. You have to declare they are family and that you have read the T&C's and then click the button.

Why complain? It's an extremely short call to split the booking. You then upgrade yourself in MMB and you're done.
