Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

How about the day before the account is due to be closed, everyone transfer MOST of their BW credit balance to somewhere else and leave the BW account say $0.01 in CREDIT.
Let BW post you a cheque for $0.01 for the refund of the credit balance.
That sort of thing serves no purpose beyond allowing people to think you've behaved like a jerk.

Let it rest. We had a good long run, and we did well, most of us.

only received one letter so far and that was yesterday, I would have though I would have had more, maybe there will be another round?
anyone seeing any pattern where you didn't get the letter i.e. holding a large balance say $10k plus, or having done larger sums instead of just the 50x1c?

I was thinking something the same. I haven't received a letter and was wondering if it was because I had a large balance in the account (>$20k). I wonder if they are targeting accounts that cost them the most money and 'maybe' leaving those that make them a profit, despite multiple cards and 50 x transactions per day. I guess we will know in a few weeks time.

I keep a reasonable slush fund with BW (25k+) and received a letter. Also never ran 1c transactions (5c - 10c) and around 20 a day for only a few months. My account was opened in 2014.

(and haven't posted in this thread till now - the months and months of constant bumping most probably assisted it's ultimate demise ;)).

All you blokes that clearly should have received a letter are IMO playing russian roulette that your accounts will be still active come 06th Sept... I'd be moving all my cash out, redirecting payroll & deductions at a minimum prior 06 sept.

balance in the acc of >60K and received the letter

It seems to be quite clear now - large number of small value repetitive transactions would be the reason for the current action by BW.
No mentioning of the multiple cards attached to each acc, regardless of the amount of the balance held

And with that my accounts have disappeared from Internet banking and the party is brought to a close. Thank you BW for the 909,621 QFF pts you kindly donated to me over the past nearly 2.5yrs. They have been put to good use! :D

Geez how many cards did you have? Did your account disappear? I can still see mine on internet banking.

4 cards on one account & 3 on another. Not right from the start but built up to that number over the course of the accounts being open.

I'm overseas so haven't actually received a letter but given that the accounts have disappeared from Internet banking (as has happened with other people) I assume they will be waiting for me when I return, specifying a closing date of 31 August.

I would have loved to get to the million point mark but such is life. I'll probably give it a few months and then try to open another account.

I got my letter in the mail yesterday too :(
Since my closure date is 5 September, I have just run my macro for the final time, in the hope that I still get August points no worries, and I will transfer out my remaining funds now.
It sure was fun while it lasted, and it's absolutely given me a nice little balance of QFF points that I'm hoping to cash in for some European travel this time next year!
Three cheers for BankWest for keeping the party going so long

I must admit this bit seems a bit weird, given we have online statements I thought BW had to keep that info available so we can show in our tax return!

All my statements are still there. In eStatements they are listed under Closed Accounts.
