hummel - did you move your mortgage first, and then your BW QF account got closed?
Negative. I rang them up and stated the process of moving yesterday after I received the letter.
I am tempted to apply for a new card and see what happens.

I've had quite a few messages come in requesting the python script recently.
Before messaging me please note it can ONLY be used for Telstra.
I am happy for you to credit one of my Telstra billing accounts and I will bank transfer the funds to you but don't expect me transfers to you to be reliably done every month. I already do this for 2 users who message me with how much they have done and then I generally transfer back once every 2-3 months as tbh it's a waste of my time transferring $15 to you. I've only got 3 billing accounts so could only do this for perhaps 2 more people. Too many 1c payments and surely Telstra will crack it at me.
Please research how to run a python script before asking for it. I use pythonanywhere which is $5 a month. I'm fine to run it for you but ultimately I'd then need access to your full card details so that's something you would need to decide on.
The python script will try and do 50 transactions per card, after 3 declines it stops trying that card and just tries other cards in the set. I run it twice a day to ensure I do not miss points. It has the ability to email a report each time it runs on how many successes it had.
So if after reading the above you want it message me or another user who has it. I've got no real intention of creating one for anyone other then Telstra but if you ask nicely enough I will *look* at other providers but you would need to give me a billing account or some details so I can make a payment through it to see the workflow.
There are a number of generous offers in your post. I have been using a Python script which very well might have originally been yours (I've made some modifications since). Even though I may not call you on your offers I just wanted to thank you for being a good sport.
Some people here mentioned just using the excess credit with Telstra to get a phone, roaming, extra data, etc.
Can you just let it build up and ask for the excess to be transferred back to you once in a while?
Yes. Telstra will process the extra credit back but you'd want to do it quite infrequently.
My Telstra bills are $250, $150 and $150 so I don't get to go into credit, haha.
Ok I might try that. Always seen that application but didn't know that it works the same was as imacro. Do you know if you can schedule times for when it should run?
Why do you say that? Just to not raise any flags?
I don't intend to do it frequently because I imagine it may raise some flags.
Pretty much.
It's a very weak form of money laundering - it used to be common for people to use a stolen credit card to pay a fake Telstra account (created using fake details) then have Telstra try and pay our the credit balance.
They'll always do it but they may request you to jump through hurdles.
It's important to remember as well businesses are not obligated to keep you as a consumer (not sure how this applies with Telstra and the USO though) so if you make life too annoying for them they can just boot you. I'd probably aim to extract the credit balance once a quarter.
It should appear on June statement as i done Mar , Apr , May but it haven't . I will wait until the next few statement in July to see if it come up or maybe need to wait until first statement of AUG
I can tell that I made the first three eligible spends in Jan, Feb, Mar and got the first lot of 5K credited in May. I believe this is because of the rule that says that if the account was opened mid-month and <$500 was spent in the first month, they will consider the following six months for points eligibility. My Jan spend did qualify though, so it must be how the rule in their software works - it always waits until after 3 full months of transactions.
Now I am not sure if I need to keep spending $500 this month as it will be the 7th months (Apr, May and Jun were also completed with $500 each) and frankly I am not willing to spend that much unless I have to.

Yes, iCal works well for scheduling script jobs.I believe it can do that using iCal, but havn't tried it....
