Bankwest Qantas Transaction account [being withdrawn in 2025]

Has anyone who opened their account in the past 2 months, made the required transactions, received their 10000 bonus points yet?
No one has reported this and it shouldn't have occurred yet for anyone as the required time period has not yet elapsed.

What do you mean by required time?
“If you have satisfied all of the eligibility criteria, 10,000 bonus Qantas Points will be credited to the Qantas Frequent Flyer account linked to the Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account within 60 days of you meeting the eligibility criteria.”

Read all the terms and posts here. Points wont post until a specific time of the month.

lol. FWIW I received my monthly points 6th August. seems a fair amount in terms of balance bonus points + transaction points.

However, have just received my 'we are closing your account' letter. It doesn't even specify why beyond 'pursuant to the t&cs

Oh well. Should have ridden it until the 10k arrived, alas.

That sucks. What sort of schnitz do you think you were doing for them to get uppity? Be interested to get data points on what the definition of unreasonable (or suspected unreasonable) use is.

- 1x $2000 deposit
- 4 weeks of approx 40-50 transactions per week.
- About 8 vendors in total
- avg transaction ~$1.25 in value
- 95% of transaction volume at two vendors (two WW stores), avg transaction would be lower there

Deposited $2010 AFTER the date of my closure letter, so they didnt wait to find out anymore based on the above info/history.

As mentioned by others, the letter has no specificity around abuse or anything, simply that its being 'closed as per t&cs'

On the statement generated today I can see the 10,000 points will be credited to my account on the next sweep. Account opened mid June.

My statement not due for several weeks, but points have posted well before the statement so far.

My point sweep is around the 6th of the month.

10,000 bonus + normal monthly points in my Qantas account today. One day earlier than had been occurring.

Thanks for the 20,000+ points so far Bankwest.

EDIT -

So does anyone know if bankwest attempted to recoup bonus points paid in prior years?

I also received my 10,000 points plus normal monthly points today. I opened the account in late June.

Same here. Account opened and required transactions occured early July ; credited today.

Now to decide whether to keep the account :)

I'll be keeping the account based on the past few months I'm confident that I can generate 50,000+ points at zero cost and almost zero effort to me.
