Bangkok Airways and QF call centre experience.

Hi all, my recent experiences with Qantas call centre unfortunately reached a new low.

I recently made a reward seat booking from Trat (Thailand) to Bangkok approximately 360 days in advance, the carrier being Bangkok Airways. The points were deducted together with a booking code being generated. After a day or two my booking (which was initially showing as ‘processing ‘) disappeared from my bookings nor was it retrievable on the Bangkok Airways website.

In my first call to Qantas I experienced an agent who was both lacking skill and difficult to understand. So, I gave up and I called the next day which included two transfers ( over the course of an hour) to more specialist teams. The final specialist agent for reasons unbeknown to me insisted my booking was from Kazakhstan to Bangkok! I then queried the airport code of the Kazakhstan departure city and was told TDX to which I replied TDX is Trat in Thailand !

The agent then tried to reinstate my booking, which was initially successful, but could not complete the tax payment for it. As it turned out Bangkok Airways don’t sell tickets approximately 360 days in advance despite QF website showing reward seats 360 days in advance.

So my points will be refunded ( in anticipation ! ) and I will try to book again once the Bangkok Airways and Qantas reward booking calendars align.

Has anyone else experienced calendar misalignment before ?
