For my recent trip I was watching the performance of JQ57 & JQ58 for my BNE-DPS-BNE travels. They would usually operate about an hour late and then once in ten days run 6 hours late or not at all. So we packed lots of books and a good attitude when we headed to the airports.

The JQ 787 aircraft mostly operate in the following cycle.

JQ 35 MEL - DPS
JQ 36 DEP - MEL
JQ 43 MEL - DPS
JQ 58 DPS - BNE
JQ 57 BNE - DPS
JQ 44 DPS - MEL
repeat

Our return on JQ 58 is directly related to the arrival performance of JQ43. Over the days I could see that even when JQ43 left melbourne late Jetstar would not update the JQ58 times until some time later. The day prior to our return JQ43 was 3 hours late which pushed JQ 58 to 6 hours late.

So after all this monitoring...my JQ58 departed on time and arrived in Brisbane 25 minutes early. Bags on time in both directions.

One big hooray for JQ & our $239 return fares.

Hmmm... how dare you give positive feedback (just kidding).

It's good to know and yes BNE-DPS / DPS-BNE performance has been terrible. A part of me wonders if this is on purpose (ie easy ability to move those impacted to other flights)?

From what I could see performance out of Bali is mostly/only determined by the timely performance of the Au originating flight.

From BNE Int, DPS is the only JQ flight.
