I am embarking on a work trip shortly to the great metropolis of Mt Isa, but leaving from PER means the red eye or an overnight in BNE. I have had to do this many times before, and I avoid red eyes as much as JohnK avoides Jetstar. Flight leaves PER at 1230 and the next leaves BNE at 0905 the following morning. I will be checking in two pieces of luggage in PER, one with work equipment the other with my clothes. Now to the question, as I dont need or want to lug the equipment around Brisbane, can I check my clothes to BNE, and the equipment all the way to ISA? I believe due to the 24 hour checkin I could actually online checkin for both flights, then ask that my clothes only get tagged as far as BNE, but the equipment gets tagged to ISA. Has any tried this or similiar, and what was their success? if no one has tried this what do those in the know think my success will be?

if you are overnighting in BNE, you will ( I am pretty certain ) have to collect all your luggage

Dave,

you are rarely wrong, but I hope you are on this occasion, however I certainly won't be betting against you.:(

Well Dave, once again you are correct. Now I have I have to lug around the extra bag in Brisbane,
