Hi all - I'm flying AKL to SIN via SYD. I've got an upgrade AKL to SYD but still waiting on SYD to SIN. Am I allowed to take 60kg the whole way or officially only AKL to SYD then 50kg SYD to SIN? Thanks!

Officially, you get the Business allowance (60kg for Platinum/Emerald) for the AKL-SYD leg. If your SYD-SIN leg remains Economy, the system should default to 50kg for that segment. However, if you check in at AKL with 60kg, they will tag it all the way to SIN. The SYD transit won't re-weigh your bags.

Check in at the AKL Business counter. They almost never "downgrade" the weight limit for the second leg once the tags are printed.

Yes, sorry should have updated. AKL is all the automated machines and it had my allowance as 60kg for the full journey even though I only was upgrade AKL to SYD, not SYD to SIN.
