Like most our 2020 trips came to an unceremonious end and being an optimist over the past 2 years I had been busy booking family trips during the school holidays for Apr 21, Sep 21, Apr 22 and Sep 22. The first 3 fell by the wayside but this one, with less than 24 hours to take off all systems seem to be a go. The current plan to get to NYC sees us stopping in SEA, YWH, YVR, YYZ and YUL prior to arriving in NYC. We are all travelling on points, I am departing on EK (booked prior to the tax hikes) and returning SQ, Mrs&MissM are with VA and SQ in both directions.

There are some revenue trips in the mix being QF ADL-MEL to use up an old voucher, a YVR-YYZ flight (2 separate PNRs) using AMEX credits that would have otherwise expired and a YUL-JFK(LGA/EWR) which is not yet booked and I will do after we arrive in Canada.

As we have only been concerned about getting to the US/CA and back again we have no planned itinerary outside of the main sectors and will just wing it for the next 4 weeks.

Now do Mrs M and MissM have your credit cards ready to shop ?
I think the answer is yes, I asked them if they would like to go to the aircraft museum in SEA and was told 'we' have other plans. The girls seem to think when I bankroll travel this means everything, this is the first family trip post covid somethings just seem to remain the same.

Does that mean your little conundrum on cabin class is solved, at least for the way out?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Time to get on with the show, first stop (well the starting point) ADL the flight is delayed by about 40 minutes and was expecting while away the time in the normal lounge, things took a turn for the better and I was escorted into the other lounge so I cannot complain about this.IMG_4699.jpegIMG_4700.jpegIMG_4701.jpegIMG_4702.jpegIMG_4703.jpeg

Next leg of the journey involved a visit to the QF F lounge. I am trying to refrain from eating too much as I will get feed on the plane. As a bit of a change my mini case has tagged along to carry the gadgets.

Edit, I moved over the EK lounge and as expected nothing seems too have changed. Took a shower and as boarding commences in 15 minutes I am just staying here, do not need to eat any more however I prefer Veuve and Moet over Pommery which was on offer at QF.

The EK flight, I have taken one for the team and sampled/ eaten more food and wine. I feel like I have been on this flight forever but have just
left the AU mainland according to the tablet thingy, I have around 9.5 to go to reach DXB and I then get to do this again tomorrow.

It has been a few years since I have transited through DXB and forgot how large it is. Any way to walk off some of the food I had eaten yesterday went on a walk through the 3 F lounges. A few photos of each.

Terminal A,

Bravo! Looking forward to this TR 🥂

With the Dom Perignon do they serve a different vintage based on status? I've never done better than the 2006 on EK in F 🍾🥂
Nothing to do with status EK introduced the plenitude 2 about a month or so back. The online wine listings for DXB-SEA was still showing as vintage dom however the onboard wine list had been updated to the P2.
