Hi,

I couldn't see a BA thread, so hopefully this is the right place.

I'm flying though to the UK on BA16 to SIN and then changing to BA 12 to LHR.

I understand BA16 is a 747? can anyone confirm? And does anyone know if that would have been a refurbished y+ cabin?

Also, I cant get a 2 seats on the window is there a way to out-status the people or pay to get them?

Cheers,

Why the change from 16 to 12?

Edit: I dont believe the 744s have refreshed Y+ cabins.

Why the change from 16 to 12? Good question, the TA came up with this as it returned a cheaper fare. I went along with it to maximize SC haul. I'm on track to hit Gold imminently and I thought I would aim for WP. TBH I am kind of regretting this decision now. My main concern now is the 747 leg and the quality of the cabin.

I know the 777s have the new PE design but am wondering if the 747 leg to LHR is the same or worse.

why fly direct when you can connect ;)

BA16 is 777-300 new whY+ cabin
BA12 is 747 no sure but I reckon old whY+ cabin

Recently travelled to LHR on BA16 747 and back on BA15 777 (the 747 to 777 swap happened while i was over there).
Food was terrible on both the outbound and inbound flights.
777 Y+ seat was impressive with large PTV, good recline, similar to QF Y+ product, nice to enjoy an exit row also.
747 Y+ seat was very average indeed. No noticeable extra leg room, slight increase in recline (not much) and tiny PTV. Seats are really showing their age.
