I'd appreciate people's thoughts on BA World Traveller Plus. Is it worth it from Singapore to London or would London to New York be a better option? If the latter, does that earn one base point per mile for Qantas (rather than 0.25)? Are there any better lounge privilleges (QP Silver)?

I guess it depends how tall you are ? or wide.
QP will get you access to the business lounges only.

Never flow it myself but about to try next week i think i wil have a flight.

I would say that the better option would be to do both. WT+ is a lot nicer imo than WT. When crediting to QF, it counts for full economy SCs and full miles plus 10% class of service bonus. When crediting to AA it counts for full miles plus 10% bonus and accrues at 1.5 qpoints per mile flown

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

WT+ does not provide lounge privileges at all.

I would look at which is the longest overnight flight if you can only select one of SIN-LHR and LHR-JFK.

You do notice the difference. I would pay the premium over Y/discount Y to use it again. T class (discount WT+) can be available sometimes but I have no idea how easy/hard they are to come by. And SIN-LHR is considerably longer than LHR-JFK, if you have to choose one only.

I do recommend WT+, it does make that economy long haul a little bit better.
Quicker meal service (means you can get to sleep earlier), less people in your cabin so less noise, a footrest, wider seats and more legroom etc etc etc.

This is semi out of topic (i.e. should perhaps be in the UA forum), but is the UA Economy Plus comparable to BA's WT+, or significantly worse?

UA econony plus is just the same seats as economy, just with more legroom so very different to BAs WT+

Have flown WT+ three times Syd-Lon. Would recommend. If travelling as a couple 2 seats on the side is great, extra elbow room, especially against the window. Can concur about footrest etc. Well worth the money if you can't afford business. Sometimes BA have specials that include xx_ amount of land contenet in UK.

I think a price comparison between a through ticket PER-SIN-LHR-USA and 2 separate tickets PER-SIN and SIN-LHR-USA might also in order.

The latter (I think) is certainly cheaper if you can get to SIN one way and base future tickets from SIN. ie the SIN-PER-SIN is much cheaper than PER-SIN-PER

The only other option I am aware of is the BA/QF WT+ Australia-Europe excursion fare which permits the return back through Asia or through N or S America based on a European turn point. The BA segments book in W class if premium is available, the QF segments book into B class.
Actually more beneficial for AA FF members qualifying via qPoints than QF FFs

If there are other options I would like to know about them.... ;)

Happy wandering

Fred

Are BA planning to drop Australia services? For the last few weeks the Club World advert they put in the New Yorker hasn't had Sydney on the map of global Club World destinations...
