Not as good a deal as the blurb suggests (due to the apparent use of fullish fare tickets), but still reasonable when you work out the sums and especially if you can get your company to pay :D

British Airways - Travel in Style
"We all know how important comfort is, especially on longhaul flights to London. Simply purchase a promotional British Airways' airfare by 31 August 2006 for departures between 16 July-31 March 2007, and enjoy a one-way upgrade to the next cabin.

This means if you book a World Traveller economy class ticket promotional airfare starting from AUD2058, plus estimate AUD426 taxes, you can enjoy the experience of travelling one-way in World Traveller Plus, premier economy class, and enjoy a wider seat with 7 inches more leg room in a separate cabin.

Or if you purchase a World Traveller Plus promotional airfare starting from AUD4070 plus estimate AUD426 taxes, travel one-way in style in our Club World business class cabin, and enjoy the softest ever, fully flat bed.

Not only that, customers who book a Club World, business class, promotional airfare from AUD8000 plus estimate AUD426 taxes, will travel one-way in the ultimate comfort - FIRST.

These great airfares also offer you a return sidetrip to one of 25 European cities including: Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Cork, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Helsinki, Inverness, Isle of Man, Jersey, London, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Newcastle, Nice, Paris, Rome, Shannon, Vienna and Zurich. Additional taxes apply depending on European destination.

Airfare price depends on the date you are departing and terms and conditions apply. Contact British Airways on 1300 362 675 or your local travel agent to book."

I think I'll pass. NZ has a great sale for their new AKL-LHR via HKG route. Fare is same as to HKG only, so $1958 econ, $2598 premium econ, $5578 business (all including tax & fuel surcharge).

Hate to raise this again, Kiwi, but why would anyone fly discount economy with NZ when they don't give you any FF points?

I know I won't be paying for a ticket with them while they maintain this stupid policy. Must lose them quite a bit of business.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Who said anything about flying in discount economy? For less than the price of BA's promo one-way econ and one-way premium economy you can fly both ways premium economy on NZ, and for about the same (AUD4496 = approx NZD5525) as BA's promo one-way premium economy and one-way business you can fly both ways new business on NZ.

Besides which even the most discounted economy can be upgraded on NZ, and if you enter other FFP # apparently sometimes you get credit (thanks to NZ not following *A standard booking classes) ;)

Well, Kiwi, you know where I am coming from. NZ doesn't make it easy for itself.

By the way, have you resolved your travel arrangements for later this month?

If you're in LA 27/28 this month, I could buy you a drink.

:)
