Two of the letter froms today's Travel Section of the Sydney Morning Herald: seems like the wheels have fallen off further: (names have been removed - can see them at SMH)

Awful flight

I returned recently from Britain to Brisbane and was originally booked to fly all the way with Qantas. This was changed to British Airways between Britain and Singapore when Qantas experienced its engine problems.
I now fully appreciate what ''BA'' stands for and the second word is ''awful''. I didn't appreciate the crew's surly attitude.
The Qantas flight from Singapore to Brisbane was a delight and the crew deserves to be thanked for a job well done. Customer satisfaction brings back customers.

Broken promises

We flew recently with British Airways from London to Italy and from London to Sydney. What we received fell far short of what was advertised. The service was non-existent, the meals and snacks were not as described and the entertainment was about one-third of that advertised. My seat in premium economy from Heathrow to Sydney was broken and provided limited leg room, a limited angle of recline and a tray table that could not open fully.
Trying to get recognition of its deficiencies from British Airways was impossible. Each complaint was met with the same mantra: ''Sorry you were unsatisfied, your complaint is noted, we look forward to you flying with us again.'' To all intents and purposes, BA is a budget airline in every way except its promises and charges.

I flew back from BKK on a QF numbered BA in J last week, I must say that the service from the cabin staff was superb, however, they didn't have very many tools to work with. My original seating became serviceable prior to boarding which took me from 63 on the top deck to the bottom deck along with 3 other PAX, there seemed to be a shortage of meals loaded on the AC, I couldn't get my choice (in J!), then I managed to get 1 bourbon & coke of choice before there was no bourbon of choice left on the AC, I had to change flavor.

None of these issues were the fault of the flight attendants and they couldn't be blamed, yet I listened to PAX complaining to each other about how bad the on board service was and that they would be complaining once hitting Terra Firma.

My advice to anyone flying from BKK would be ensure your metal is QF if you have booked QF, because I would have to question the quality of the BA product - not the coal face workers (the FA's)

Im sure there are many acronyms that may fit...

Barely Adequate
coughy Attitude
Bad Attendants (interchangeable with the previous).

For every horror story there's going to be a good story. Expectations of people have a lot to do with everything. :)

The last time I flew with BA, the seat did not work, the TV did not work, and neither did the FA's (which in BA language, stands for "they do F.... ALL). We will not fly with them, also have KLM on the same list.

Very sorry to hear that actually...

I was on three BA flights this month, one being LHR to BKK and the service was absolutely spot on...

Shame they stuffed it up for you
