Ah the twitterz was abuzz over the past 24 hours following a BA Rep called Angela giving an uncharacteristic truthful response to a passenger rant.
The passenger was held at the gate as her passport wasn’t signed (Irish Passport) and she struck out at BA for holding her up in a series of tweets. Angela at BA was having none of it 😂

Strange.

I just checked all four of my current passports (oldest issued 2013) , 2 x Aus and 2xUK, and the signature is digitised from my application.

French passport only has standard signature, not digitised.

Many EU passports have a digitised signature on the ID page and another signature on another page. Usually done when receiving the passport.
Mine only have the ID page digitised signatures and none of the approx 50 flights a year I take from EU airports, many with BA, has ever asked for anything more.

But hey, if they ask, I promise not to hold up the queue more than 10 seconds while I sign it.

Always ready, that's me.

Just to be safe, I think I'll avoid tweeting about it too.

I think it was an Irish passport which still requires an actual signature on a separate page.
My Irish passport (which is a useful addition to an AU passport) has just run out, but I used it as recently as last year to enter the UK. It has a digital signature only, so it must be a new requirement - of the gnomes in Brussels presumably - to sign the passport on receipt. I'd have renewed it, but they don't accept AU-style passport pictures now either.
