Read in the papers, and also on ba.com website, there is this sale, sydney to UK/europe on World Traveller Plus for 2750, incl taxes.
However when I try to book on the ba.com website, I was unable to end up with a price less than $3300, even though when selecting the flights, I was able to get outbound for $1192, and return for $1192, yet by the time it reaches the total screen, the price somehow has gone to over $3300.
Anyone know why, or experienced the same thing?

I was having some big issues booking a WT+ fare last night as well. BA just didn't seem to be releasing availability back to my online TA. Other sites had the same issue too.

Are you booking it for the right departure time of "17 Jan - 24 Feb 2006" ?

You could try ringing BA direct in Australia to book it. I think they add in a small surcharge though.

Their details:

Telephone Sales
Phone 1300 767 177
Opening hours Monday - Friday: 0900hrs-1730hrs EST
After hours UK contact 0011 44 191 490 7901

The fare code for this fare appears to be "TLGNY" booked into T class (WT+).

It is possible that either this fare has sold out (I would think unlikely, if it had I would've expected it to be pulled) or has not been properly loaded into booking systems.

A very good price. Wish I was travelling then!

If it doesn't seem to work on the site, then my only suggestion is to call tomms morning and ask about it...

As I said above, I am having problems with a certain WT+ fare I've been trying to book. It keeps returning me a way too high price or tells me that there are no flights on the days I want to travel. (Even though there is availability). May be some booking glitches this weekend.

BTW. I find the BA online booking site unintuitive. Wish they'd redesign it!

i am not actually travelling at this point, more or less just trying out the system... so a little bit disappointed by it.

i wonder does anyone know whether sales on WT+ happens very often? I dont remember noticing them much.

I have tried a booking as well and the total price it comes up with is $3,379.78 as I did what you did selected two $1192 flights + taxes. I couldn't find anything in the add or the t&c's other than currency fluctuation, but cannot imagine that it has changed that much. Has to be something wrong with the booking engine or all seats have sold out.

I have just worked out why.

There is a price that comes up on 12/1 of $1505 with the rest of the days being a combination of $1192 and $1669. Tax seems to be constant at $369.78.

If you select outbound and inbound as $1192 sectors then it gives price breakdown as $3010($1505 + $1505) + $369.78 for a total price of $3,379.78. If you select outbound sector as $1192 and inbound sector as $1669 then it gives price breakdown as $3174($1505 + $1669) + $369.78 for a total price of $3,543.78. If you select outbound sector as $1669 and inbound sector as $1192 then it gives price breakdown as $3174($1669 + $1505) + $369.78 for a total price of $3,543.78. If you select outbound and inbound as $1669 sectors then it gives correct price breakdown as $3338($1669 + $1669) + $369.78 for a total price of $3,707.78.

I hope this is as clear as mud but the $1505 airfare seems to be regarded as the lowest price and is causing havoc to the calculations.

If you really need to book airfare then I would ring them direct or wait until website is fixed. Programmers and the bugs they leave behind.

guess what?

tried the website again today, and the "bug" has been fixed!
possible to get a WT+ rtn flights incl taxes for $2,753.78
