Not sure whether this belongs here or not, but thought I would ask since I trust the community's opinions.

SWMBO turns 40 in november and I am going to take her away for the weekend (first time away for us without the kids since the twins were born 2 year ago ).

So i am looking for recommendations for a B&B/Guest House sort of place:

  • within max 4hr drive of MEL
  • friendly and good service
  • handy to winery and food options to explore
  • quiet but with options to explore if we're up to it
  • preferably modern but this is not a must
have already looked on wotif, ezstays, and now some B&B sites, but would prefer user recommendations.
