Luckily in the year before the richard Branson tearing up the cheque, I managed to redeem quite a lot of GR points.

The last time I did QF MEL-SYD I was told the flight was too short to be served a cup of tea. However VA had no problem serving tea on MEL-SYD.

Was that a breakfast/morning tea flight? Or after midday? After midday is beer and wine, so they don’t do extra tea/coffee.

Pretty sure it’s time of day. They’ll make up bulk for morning / lunch flights but go on demand when most people are on the wine / beer. If it’s too short to do on demand you get that answer.
