Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Most seem to prefer to use the points for upgrades as opposed to outright awards. My fear with that would be booking a Y ticket and then not getting the upgrade come through. I couldn't do long haul in Y so I would end up cancelling the ticket.
Awards availability is a concern!'

Ha ha. I had to chuckle at this comment. It also took me a while to find good value redemptions to be able to get rid of my Qantas points. Most of it anyway. It’s so hard to find an international destination to redeem points on that is better value on QFF compared to other programs.

Qantas' strength certainly lies more in marketing their program to the people than in the value of their FF points.
All my points crept up via CC spending with boni from Woolies and Optus. As we have now switched to Aldi and Eftpos (for a gross 8% advantage over Woolies) that stream will largely dry up. But it is certainly much easier to buy a competitive ticket from the savings made than funneling through QFF and getting hit by excessive award fees.

Out of interest what were yours?

My QFF stash continues to grow (whatever I can;t get to SQ) as for several years now I have just been redeeming *A as it is much better value.

I would never redeem QFF points for Y tickets, may as well buy a toaster instead.
My points are strictly for J-F upgrades, ASA's in premium classes and if I ever get around to saving enough points a 420 K One World F Award

It is wise to spread the love.looking at a J award SYD-NRT.On QF 72000 points for a classic + $255.92.AA-45000 miles + $US85.
Then looking at SYD-LHR-AA in F 80000 miles + $US85.
