Last week I had to cancel two award flights Syd - Honolulu. All seemed to go fine on the phone at the time.

Today one of the flights has disappeared, but the other seems firmly entrenched.

The points for neither have been refunded yet.

Does it normally take a few days for the cancellation to take effect? And what would be the normal period for return of points.

Thx
(and this was our wonderful Alaska trip that just went in the bin :()

I have had issues cancelling award flights with no refund coming through. I had to call up and have it manually processed immediately. They said there were issues with the cancellation process for some reason.

After waiting on hold for two hours on the weekend I cancelled 2 award bookings with the CS agent. I had to do this over the phone as a time change had left the booking unchangeable online. She told me the refund I would receive etc. Today the bookings are still in my profile and don't appear to have been altered in anyway. Pushka, I have the same question, do I need to call again? Or wait a while?

I ended up calling again and was answered very quickly. Apparently they are queued according to date of trip but this seems a bit random as the later trip had been cancelled. My expiry date on the refund credit card had also changed. Anyway, the cancellations were there and they are in the queue - don't know how many are there but there seemed to be a few.

Have the "fees" for the award bookings been reaccredited yet, or they somewhere in the amorphous queue?

In the queue too. It's the new 'in the mail'. At least CS can see them.

They were jet* bus max bundle and a very hard sell to just change the dates. But if able to fly long distances next year will have a bundle of points and will go Q to SF.

One last thing to cancel. The cruise.

Bite the bullet and do it. :)
Hopefully their refund will be quicker than QF.
