Award booking city not showing in search

Hi all,

I have a question regarding booking a Emirates flight using my Qantas points. The flight I want to book is from MLE-DBX-PER.

When on the Qantas site I can select PER-MLE and I get flights showing, when I try and do it the other way around MLE-PER, MLE isnt showing up in the search box.

Wanted to see if anyone has come across this with other destinations on the site before?

I'm thinking this either isn't possible or I may need to ring Qantas about it.

As an example when searching on the site for a flight to JNB next year I can select PER-JNB or JNB-PER in the search box and see all the flights just fine.

Yes; I recently booked an Award flight Athens-xDoha-Tehran on QR on-line, using QFF points, no problems. However the reverse flight Tehran-Doha wouldn't come up. In fact, Doha or Tehran as ports of origin wouldn't come up at all! Calling up found that yes, flights involving Doha and Tehran are available (of course). Just checked again - still won't appear as classic award flight origins.

RooFlyer did you manage to get the return booked at all over the phone or via the website?

Return was actually Tehran-Doha-Melbourne. I called to see if it was available and no probs; got quoted schedule and points cost. And no phone booking fee of course.

KEF....it is annoying but QFF did waive assistance fee

I had a similiar situation a while ago on the QF website.

I could search SCL-LIM classic award, but when I tried to do LIM-SCL, I couldn't? LIM would not come up as an origin, only a destination. I tried different QF sites (Chile, USA..) couldn't do it. After calling the help desk, there was availability on that route with LATAM.

And as in Rooflyers case, I just checked again and it still won't .

Yes I noticed this recently trying to start a search with SJU as the origin.
