re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I'm not sure that it's ever been possible to book flights with more than one connection in a single booking.
Very much possible

and anything Australia to Europe (rather than FRA) is at least 2 connections

No, that's incorrect.

You can do SYD-CDG on NH via HND or via DEL on IA among others.

simple search on 23 August for SYD-CDG in J :

thats for hubs - anywhere rather than FRA/CDG/LHR is 2 stops
I'm talking secondary cities in Europe where you have to get to via a Star Alliance European hub - I.e. via Frankfurt/Zurich/Stockholm etc

the point was that you can have 2 connections on an award, that's quite standard for travelling to a non-hub port

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

In my case the LM web site offered the 2 connections but just errored out trying to proceed with booking - all fixed now - booked by call centre in response to my screen shot e-mail and I called this morning to pay the taxes. e-tickets issued and seats assigned. I hope to be be able to change my SYD-YVR-YYC-YYZ in Vancouver to a non-stop flight - AC will do this but charge $75 pp (subject to availability).

OK, I missed the hubs part.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I have flights next year with 2 connections at hubs. MEL - BKK - ICN - LAX. Booked with screen shots. Also, if there had been any *A J flights into RNO, I would have had connections at 3 hubs. I suspect the issue is just another example of the website problems.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I'm not sure what you're seeing but what I'm seeing is weird! No idea if it's business or first...it claims to be both!?? But prices as the former.

I'm currently seeing a range of SQ non A380/77W/A350 business class awards available on routes like ADL-SIN, BNE-SIN using aircraft that are only 2 class (predominantly A330), all priced at F levels. So instead of 40K BNE-SIN, they are charging 60K for BNE-SIN on SQ. Even though it is charging points for F, and coming up as First on screen 1, screen 2 clearly indicates it is business, indeed there is no first on the aircraft.

Their IT is terrible. Tried to cancel some bookings over the phone but the payment system didn't work so was asked to call back the next day, then the day after that... Finally managed to process cancelation today but now their website is not working *sigh*

I am encountering the same problem with cancellations last few days. One took three calls over three days, the other still ongoing.
Meanwhile the clock is ticking for me to complete the ticketing process for a separate itinerary, which can't be completed until the miles redeposit from the cancellations.

Yup I've just booked two flights in the last few weeks
Adl-sin-adl and sin-bne-sin for 2 people both in business. Couldn't see any availability on United and even on KrisFlyer was waitlist! Anyway all booked and ticketed. Screenshots solve the problem easily of the points discrepancy. They used to call me to take my details but last 2 times I've been asked to call them instead which was easy the first time and painfully tedious the second

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

im planning for a screenshot redemption.. for route SIN-ICN-SYD one way in J..
just wondering, how many points that would be ?? 40k or 50k ??

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

im searching for May 2017 seats.. and none available on any airline.. but managed to get SIN-ICN (SQ) and ICN-SYD (Asiana) via screenshot..
or maybe should i wait for another few months so i can book NH instead ??

It would be 40,000. I'd just book NH online, though.

Just put NH as your "Preferred Carrier". Or TG if you want to cut down on travel time.
