re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

sort of makes United Mileage Plus a bit easier choice, especially if you can take adv of the free stopover that united offers on a return ticket. at least they generally don't require screen shots to get a booking.

me thinks CX is going to have to enhance their mileage program soon as they offer the best value into Asia these days.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I made a redemption booking last Saturday and have yet to have it ticketed. It was with ANA and the LM email with the PNR arrived within a few minutes, but still no e-ticket.

Should I be concerned?

I never get e-tickets from LM, only the itinerary. Dunno why.

I go to the operating airline's website and confirm the ticket number, or call the airline.

Otherwise generally 'yes', no ticket number after about 3 days and you run into the risk of the ticket being autocancelled.

The PNR doesn't work on the ANA 'manage booking' page.

Hopefully Jeffrey O'Neill is correct in that Easter has just slowed things down.

It doesn't mean it hasn't been ticketed. I normally find LM tickets instantly, then i get the email confirmation (almost instant as well). Ticket receipt... as i said... never get one of those.

If your booking hasn't been ticketed, Easter won't stop the operating airline autocancelling depending on its policy and timelines. .

You mean no ticket number when you check your trip on Check My Trip? In that case, definitely worth a call to sort it out. My last ten or so NH bookings have ticketed within 5 minutes, including one early this morning. I never seem to receive the e-ticket emails for online bookings, not sure why.

Thanks, I have found the e-ticket number on Checkmytrip. Took me a little while to navigate/sign up as it no longer seems possible to just enter a PNR.

So I am a little more relaxed. But for the life of me I can't 'manage booking' with either the PNR or e-ticket. I will give ANA a ring to sort out seating/meals.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

But for the life of me I can't 'manage booking' with either the PNR or e-ticket.

It can be temperamental with the PNR if you have a middle name, and sometimes putting a space in between the names works despite instructions to the contrary. I've also had differing results by using (say) the US site or the Australian one.

I don't think the e-ticket number will work unless it was issued by NH.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Keeping it simple for me. Only 16K LM in my account these days.

But just did MEL-BKK-SGN over Christmas for 1 pax in J. Took 2 days to get done but call centre called today and all went through well.

Ended up booking my ticket on United and the wifes on LM. About time I burnt some miles!

Just out of interest why the two days for the MEL-BKK-SGN booking? This is available online with TG. (or did you go for connections outside the 8 hours?)

That was my thought too as I've done it before.. but this time the system just wouldn't allow it for some unknown reason. Only the 2hr connection which will work well.

If it's available to see on line the call centre should be able to assist. If it's not available on line you'll have to screenshot.

Ok tried this. Tried to email screenshots and told for changes I have to call the call centre. Called call centre who say they can't do screenshots, which i kind of expected. Customer service via email insist they can't do or forward my request to the manual booking dept that does the screenshot bookings. Anyone got any ideas?
