re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I'm wondering if I should be worried because I didn't receive the old style one....I worry I'll turn up at the airport and they'll tell me I'm not actually ticketed and then I have the mad rush to phone lifemiles before I miss my flight....

Would calling TG directly to confirm makes you feel better?

This has also happened a few times for me recently. I email [email protected] with the booking code, pax names, flight info etc and ask them to ticket it. I usually get the eticket over night.
Like you I was worried what would happen at the airport ....

Don't worry! As long as the e-ticket number is there (you should be able to view it on checkmytrip and on Thai's MMB) which it appears it is you are good to go! No need for any other emails. In the week prior to my international flights I generally check them once a day on the carriers website MMB just to check if there have been any changes as I am not always confident they will be forwarded on through Lifemiles.

Hi, I am new to AFF, but very experienced with LM. As a data point, screenshot requests can take up to 4 days at the moment to process, I was told lack of staff. May be of interst to someone who needs a quick turnaround.

With a ticket number you sound fine. But if it saves you sleep then call TG to allocate specific seats, and confirm the ticket number with them whilst on the phone.

They should "unfix" the glitch. They could do it, and they did it, but they choose to keep it with screenshot.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I'm going to CPT (from LHR) over Xmas/New years. I've booked the outbound as an EY J award and while there's EY availability coming back (from JNB as EY don't fly all the way to CPT), I really want to try something different.
I know you will say I'm crazy but I'm thinking of ET or MS J using LMs instead (there's availability for both). I know it won't be nearly as good as EY J but I like the idea of trying new products. If LH J opens up last minute I can 'upgrade'.
I've read reviews of both and am leaning towards ET partly because a flight would be on a 787.

Am I mad for even considering this?

Not at all. Might as well inject some 'fun' back into flying.

I dunno about MS... my folks flew them and were blown away on the inbound to Cairo - couldn't fault the service, crew were amazing. The return was a different story. And it's dry.

ET will at least dull the pain with a beverage of your choice :)

I would avoid MS while their planes get highjacked or drop from the sky

I had positive experiences with ET (ex-JNB) on both their B777 and B787. Overall good hard and soft products and attentive service although their ADD "flagship" lounge leave a lot to be desired.

MS? Didn't try them and they are not on my list.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

There's sporadic LH F to FRA or LX J to ZRH from JNB on LM

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I have flights booked through LM with TG next January, but the TG website doesn't let me select seats for one of the two legs. It just says 'seat map unavailable'.

Is this common? Would I be best to call TG to get a seat assigned?
