re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Does anyone know what kind of J seat will be installed in A350? I can't seem to find any answer. Logic says it should be same as A380 but it's also possible they'll install the same seat as 787.

The seatmap for my A350 flight in August shows an A380 configuration in J.

Some interesting developments for Air NZ redemptions

Even if it isn't.. is AirNZ still flying that dreadful coffin seat??
Very much so but they reckon it's a "cutting edge business class seat technology"

Have they been taking the same drugs that EK have with their 'new cutting edge' 2-3-2 J seat on 777s? :)

Their coffin is larger than the similar coffins sported by Cathay Pacific one generation ago.

That seat is still scooping up awards - just like it's original design founder Virgin Atlantic - so I wouldn't sneeze, but there you go.

For NZ to be releasing J, especially on flights like AKL/LAX, is mind boggling, i.e. it's even more than LH F; no one thought this would happen. If it is a phantom then that's a real shame, but some people have said it's real. Rare, but the space is appearing.

No, EK has a CEO that reckons with enough good food and entertainment, seat width rarely matters much to customers.

To be fair, we haven't seen the seat yet. It could be a staggered formation that makes it look like 2-3-2.

Yea if they match Japan airlines layout where everyone still has aisle access that could be good, otherwise I don't see how it competes.

Glitch or Revised search engine again.; After the last revised search engine, lots of options were coming up. Now today having trouble finding seats to japan or europe from Oz. Flights coming up as separate legs. Eg. Mel - BKK, BKk - Kix with TG . however when trying to get them come up together it doesnt seem to work.

Are we going to have to go back to the screenshot method ? or is it just me or a glitch ?

I noticed that yesterday. Last week I checked MEL > MLE on SQ and there was plenty of J. Now there's none. But there is J MEL>SIN and SIN>MLE. I haven't checked to see if maybe the availability doesn't line up timewise (i.e land in SIN after the MLE flight departs) hence why it doesn't come up.

All SQ availability out of BNE seem to disappeared too. LM may be blocking it again.

But it looks like they are still allowing mixed cabin.

Although it's unwelcoming it's not as disastrous as first time as we know the screenshot technic. In fact it might have positive effect as it will be harder for people to redeem and therefore more availability.

The loss of SQ is not good though

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

OZ lax-icn aircraft change from a380 to 747 on Apr 4 :( other days seem fine so I got lucky.

LM definitely did something to the site. There was still a glitch 77k points from US to Korea/Japan yesterday on some flights. Now all are 90,000. Japan - AU TG F are missing as well.

Dont think I can stand angle flat seats all the way from lax-icn-syd. Maybe an excuse to extend the trip.
