Avianca LifeMiles – Bookings and Discussion

Believe it or not, I recently used Lifemiles to book Avianca and have travelled:
1. ASN - BOG in J x2
2. BOG -MDE in Y x2
3. MDE-BOG in Y x2
4. BOG- LPB in Y x2

All flights were 737. Nothing special about their J class...basically middle seat blocked. Reasonable food. Y class offered a non alcoholic drink and a small snack. :( :(

Yep, There's plenty of availability on LifeMiles for Avianca flights. I will never waste points to book on domestic flights. I have regularly checked and there is plenty of availability to fly J from Colombia to Europe tho.

No. You may see TG in search results...it will almost always error out on attempted booking.

Back when United still had business class award availability that could be booked too...but UA has cut that off for everyone.
Are there any spots with J seats say ex- Asia? or within EU?

While I agree that domestic flights may be a waste my memory from when I last looked was that intra South America flights were expensive, and Avianca points booking were definitely a viable option?

It would be wonderful not to need to contact Avianca/Lifemiles for every minor schedule change that Lufthansa make on an award ticket. But needing to contact them, and having vivid memories of what that used to look like by phone, the WhatsApp chat method is really very much more convenient. Also does help to have some experience in what to ask (from hard lessons of others as well as self), i.e. the specifics of time changes, ticket validations, etc.
