Australian state border restrictions

QLD says Tas areas won't be hotspots from 1am on 19th. Wacko. I'm due to fly to BNE on the 20th; wonder if they'll still have "... the last 14 days in a declared hotspot" type wording? Will they grant a pass within my airfare/upgrade refund window, which is tomorrow?

I'm cancelling. Queensland - beautiful one day, just too bloody hard the next and the next, and the next.

Perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised but really....Southern Tasmania declared a hotspot by QLD with one escapee, since captured.

I'm starting to feel I'm jinxing your travels. Last time you were cancelling SA, this time it's Qld!
I'm hopefully arriving BNE on the 19th, VA1640 (ex LST) at 10pm, might as well be the 20th! If it's any help, I can post details of my reception? From my experience it'll either be extreme; PPE at 20 paces, or no-one present and an empty airport.
I've filled out a permit stating, quite honestly, that I have not been in the southern part of Tasmania. That was accepted without question and I now have a pass to enter Queensland.

Envious - except I've just checked airfares for my next propsed dates in a couple of weeks (to avoid any "...past 14 days" stuff, as I'm in the declared pox zone) and they are much cheaper! Can now do business class both ways on the created voucher plus abt $100 :p . Its a DSC job. I know, status has been extended, but I'm trying to get the max permitted roll-over and besides, business is nicer.

Nothing to be envious of. I'm out again on the 21st, assuming some Covid lunacy doesn't nail me.
I'm ashamed to admit I gave up on the DSC's when I simply couldn't get flights. I rolled over 1180 SCs. I calculated I would have made 1800 if I hadn't cancelled a bunch of DSC flights. On the plus side, I'm now closing in on WP with the opposition, who are actually offering useful flights that actually don't cancel, actually take off on time and occasionally even arrive early!

Presuming you mean VA 2.0? We are a little less impressed with them after they cancelled a mid-Dec evening MEL-LST flight timed for connection and on which we’d snared some decent fares. However with travel restrictions easing perhaps increased demand might influence reinstatement of that flight

This is where VA need something smaller than a 737…
I don’t know about other services to LST but believe from ADL the patronage has been pretty good. Today’s flight looks like it’s at capacity and this Thursday and Saturday the loads look great already. Whether that can be sustained all year round is another thing but my understanding is that we haven’t had a cancellation on that route in either direction since the service started in September

Once everything is open again, this route will have weeks to live 😂 Anyway way off topic so will stop.

I like how you have your say, then it's stop, off topic.

Also never mind someone's actual opinion / experience saying the flights are pretty good patronage with no cancellation yet your opinion is the flight will die.

But off topic so better stop, right?

I'm pretty sure the traffic will be more northbound than southbound!

No doubt. It will be interesting to see how NSW treats Victoria. I am sure the same will apply with NSW opens up free travel between Melbourne and Sydney.

What would everyone's predictions be? 1st of November? 14 days after that? When cases get under 500 per day?

Now QLD has put a line in the sand I expect South Australia will do the same, then NT, TAS and finally WA sometime next year.
