Australian Dual Citizens Entering UK after February

So citizenship by descent and you could apply for a passport now I understand.

I've lodged an enquiry with the UK National Archives to see whether Dad had a Citizens certificate issued which gives him citizenship in his own right and not by descent. That would change everything for me.
I don't want citizenship by decent nor apply for a British passport. My father is British and if I submit the relevant paperwork and pay the fees I am sure I would be approved, my sister has done this. Just because my Dad is English, my brother was born there and my Sister went through the process of getting a British Passport in the 80's or 90's I am not wired this way.

I also read the UK National Archives site and that was not that much more helpful than the offical UK Govt website. Referencing you were a citizen of the UK and Colonies (CUKC) on 31 December 1982 was not that helpful given AU became a Commonwealth in 1901. The Statute of Westminster Adoption Act was passed in around 1942, I am not a lawyer but my reading of of some of the UK Govt web resources they may have been written by others (the people posting stuff about entry rules) who do not understand the original intent. At least the UK Govt web site is just as confusing as some of the information posted by the AU Govt.

My only concern is getting flagged as not allowed to board to the UK. If that happens and if were to happen it would be a pain in the backside, I would just book other flights and change our plans on the fly. Is that ideal, not really, but we could live with it as we have done it before.

My son is in the UK. And all his extended family. I submitted an enquiry and not just read the website. I did keep going round in circles on both that and the UK Government website. My ex DIL and my two grandkids are dual citizens.

My SIL is like you, except she was born there. She didn't want to but has now applied to renew her expired passport. Her kids on the other hand are Brits by descent and have all applied for the British passport ages ago.
