Hi,
I am wondering if anybody knows if Australian Airlines (new Qantas single class international airline) is connected to Qantas' FF program? Or does it have it's own FF program?
I am flying Tokyo-Melbourne-Adelaide on Qantas and then return Adelaide-Brisbane-Cairns on Qantas and Cairns-Fukuoka on Australian Airlines.
Does anybody have any idea if I can get any miles accredited to my Qantas FF or my American Airlines mileage? And if so, which would be the better card to use (I am an Australian living in Japan)

Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers!!

ekjinoz,

As far as I know you can use your QFF to redeem flights on Australian Airlines, but you do not earn any points for flights you take.

I guess that's the definition of a low cost airline!

I stand to be corrected.

You are indeed correct, there is no way to earn mileage on Australian - apart from using a card to buy the ticket. QFF members may REDEEM miles on these flights, but may not earn them.

Why not fly to Tokyo with Air Niguini like I did? The price was the lowest around and you get full Qantas flyer points. The service was a good standard - nice people all round. Just don't expect to buy anything in Port Moresby airport transit.

At least the Moresby transit area is a sterile area. If you set foot outside the airport, you would want US$10,000 to tool up and hire some goons before you went anywhere.

How was the service? What class did you fly?
