Hi,

I want to book a one way flight to Honolulu from Auckland in May (going to continue to the main land then to UK on working holiday visa but going to book those flights separate) and have a couple questions.

Is AirNZ the only airline that does NZ-Honolulu? It might be cheaper to fly back to Sydney (currently here but have to visit Auckland first) and fly with Qantas, Jetstar, Hawaiian? Although it wouldn't be worth the extra flying time I guess.

Will I be allowed into the US in Honolulu with only a one way ticket? I've been before and still have a valid ESTA but had a return ticket.

Cheers

Air Pacific flies from Auckland to Honolulu via Nadi, they are actually the cheapest option in May, around $560 OW

Getting into the US without a return ticket? Unless you look suspicious and get an unsympathetic immigration officer, I don't think it will be any kind of problem. I've been to the US a few times and never actually been asked about it. Besides, you are saying you are going to have a ticket to go to the UK - show it if asked, it proves you are going to leave the country si no probs

Not sure if I agree with this. I will await specialist advice. I believe they know electronically your movements these days with comprehensive data matching.

Good call on Air Pacific!

Thanks for the visa advice, I'll book my flight out before I leave then.

I didn't know about Air Pacific, looks like a good option. Is there a site that you can use to see all airlines flying in/out of a specific airport. Want to see all the Sydney->Honolulu options as well as coming back here after Auckland still might be an option...

Cheers
