Attention Red Roo - Credit Card Surcharges

most carriers charge similar fees ex australia - this is not unique to qantas.

Qantas (AFAIK) have not implemented various fraud prevention measures. (Verified by visa, Safekey by Amex etc).
It seems to me that customers are paying for their slackness. Why can't they actually implement these types of fraud controls at point of purchase....

Do you really think that Qantas will abolish the credit card surcharge if they implemented fraud controls at point of purchase?

I would have thought the way forward here for QF would be to offer minimal or no fee's on QF Co branded CC's giving the customer a choice and increasing the spend on cards where the QF merchant fee's should be lower.

If the merchant fee's are not lower on co branded CC's if would give QF a reason to re negotiate with the credit providers for a better fee...win - win.

You all know there are other places to buy Qantas tickets other than Qantas.com, right?
Many don't have any extra fees....

best site in .au I use for multi city is expedia - especially for international it is amazing

If expedia are using Qantas as the merchant, then you are still paying the CC surcharge. It simply appears as a tax under the code YR
