ATMs at Seoul Incheon

Yesterday 22 September 2019, I arrived at Seoul Incheon on LH 572 from Frankfurt.

To my surprise, there were few ATMs at the airport terminal. The few that could be located were either out of service or simply not working.

Quite a few people were impacted. My partner and I worked around the issue by using a credit card for the airport train and using an ATM at Seoul station.

I was surprised that such a large and well equipped airport like Incheon was almost devoid of ATMs.

I was there 2 weeks ago and found the ATMs working OK (next to exit Gate 3), but very difficult to follow the instructions. The guy in front of me gave up and I needed 3 attempts before I got the right combination of buttons.

Korea isn't generally a cash-country, 99% of payments are made via card/phone so wonder if that has something to do with it.
