Anyone had experience withdrawing from a local ATM in Tokyo.
Any particular location or at any 7/11, Lawson or Post Office.
What are the charges like for Westpac DD card.

Yeah do it all the time. Any 7-11 (or pretty much any other ATM at convenience stores like Lawson, Ministop, Family Mart etc) can take it. Unsure on the fees but I usually get about 500$ out at a time when needed and just keep most of it at the hotel and take a little cash out each day from my kitty.

Additionally many stations in Tokyo will have ATM available too

7-11 ones were fine and I actually sought these out based on reviews that generally low fee and accept international cards

In most cases, you want an ATM at a major airport, or one branded as 7&ibank (7-11) or JPBank. (post office)

Other ATMs generally won't take overseas cards, though some are starting to.

The post office ATMs are now charging ~200yen to process an overseas transaction.
