Thursday January 25, 11:00 AM Pants to put a hold on fart smells

A new style of pants has been unveiled that could make all kinds of social situations - particularly air travel - a little more pleasant.

Under-Ease pants are produced by a US company that claims them to be the world's first pants with built-in underwear designed to contain the smell of farts.

The underpants have an in-built replaceable filter, made of felt, charcoal and fibreglass wool that traps flatulent odours.

The pants are made from air-tight fabric and completely sealed with elastic around the waistband and legs that prevents gases from escaping.

While the company's website claims more than 10,000 satisfied customers have tried and tested the new product, there is no word on whether the pants will also be able to muffle those embarrassing flatulence sounds - Travelpress travel news

I understand there is no smell as long as the 'seal' isn't broken, ie the waist or legbands aren't opened.

OK, so these dutch oven daks are going to have to breathe somewhere meaning that we can anticipate long queues for the toilets so people can discharge their blowout valve. Sounds like fun.
