Asking for GS and PS package?

Hey guys and girls, I'll be hitting WP by the end of this month (quite excited!). As I hit WP, I won't actually go through PS or GS as I will be hitting the SC limit before hitting the 4~ required. Would it be possible to ask QF for the GS/PS package after they send me my WP package?

Sorry, I'm confused. Not wishing to dampen your enthusiasm, but are you saying you'll hit the SCs required for WP without having 4 ~ (that is, QF marketed) flights? Doesn't that stop you from getting WP? Sorry if I've mis-understood.

And if you do qualify for WP, then by definition, you have gone through qualification for PS and SG and that should trigger the sending out of the 'packages', unless you did a huge amount of flying in a week and the system would ignore those stages - I guess that's what you meant.

It's entirely possible to get 1400+ status credits on other airlines and still be NB. Then get 4 ~'s and jump straight to WP.

But not to her if she had jumped straight to SG without passing go .

Personally, I wouldn't want them to bother sending me a PS pack if I was in that situation. Seems wasteful.

li agree I wouldn't want the pack, but I'd want the pass. can give it to the parents or kids. it's a huge benefit.

Technically she was PS for about 12 hours until the next couple flights posted. The point of getting the pack was the Lounge pass and the PS coasters

You will need to complete the 4 sqiggles before you go up the ladder thru PS & SG otherwise you'll still be an NB with 1400 SC.

Is it worth doing a couple of cheap return JQ sale fares with the plus bundle to give you the 4 squiggles?

How many squiggles do you currently have?

The advantage of doing this prior to all the travel is you will then get the cabin & status bonus appropriate to the ff tier you at the time the travel is undertaken.

That wasn't me but I guess I should reply as I did start the thread! For me I actually did consider exactly what you mentioned above. However, considering that I had to return from SIN-SYD I thought I might as well do it on QF instead of doing it on JQ which would give me the 2~ I need. Plus, the status bonus is 0 on MH so that's a bit worthless to me unless I'm mistaken?

And yes, I would mainly like the complementary pass for a good friend of mine with future travels on QF.

the OP might not, but the OP's parents, children or siblings might be flying. Or even just a friend. A lounge invite is a valuable item... day passes sell for $40 upwards from the airlines themselves, and $50 and up on ebay.
