Hi all,

I know I may be asking a bit much here, but I figured it's worth asking. :) I'm wondering if anyone has any complimentary Qantas Club invitations that they don't need and would be willing to part with?

All throughout last year, my girlfriend has had to put up with my tales from abroad, specifically about how nice it is to have a shower during transit at an airport lounge, relax with a free drink, watch some TV away from the hustle and bustle etc...

In a few weeks she's off to LHR and FRA (unlike me, she never travels with work. This is a rare personal trip for her), stopping at SIN each way. I was thinking it would be nice to surprise her with a QC pass (or even two), so she can sample the Qantas/BA lounge at Singapore (which I've told her looks great :)).

I scoured eBay but there's only one from the UK, and it's doubtful that it'd arrive in time.

(I've checked Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Benefits & Privileges - Status Privileges and it doesn't mention restrictions re: using the passes at international QC's, which the SIN lounge is listed as.)

If anyone could help I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
- Febs.

PS: I'll return the favour to AFF by putting my next complimentary invite up here (probably later this year when I re-qualify for Silver) for someone to grab. :)

Febs,

Sorry cant help with complimentry upgrade but check your PM.

Reggie

I do happen to have 2 spares at the moment...

If you need help, send me a PM.

(Oh, and that's not an open invite for others to ask for them so that they can sell them on Ebay... )

I can't help you with QF silver invite, but if you post flight info perhaps a Gold or Plat travelling the same time could help guest her in?

Kiwi Klyer - Good advice, thanks. Reggie kindly offered that solution but the dates didn't match.

Mal - Thanks once again for your generous offer.

Mal has kindly offered to send me the passes, so I guess this thread can be closed. :) Thanks to all who replied.

Cheers,
- Febs.

Yeah I am doing the same thing, I am a member but am travelling with my elderly parents and am willing to pay if someone would part with their Qantas Club passes if they had as well. Hopefully we will get lucky, I am not travelling till April. Did you say someone had them on ebay? LizzyE

Hi Mal, I am new to this and need the passes for my parents if you have them. I am willing to pay for them, or return the favour any how I can and I am not onselling them. Can you let me know if you can help out? LizzyE

LizzyE - same suggestion. If you don't mind posting dates and routes maybe someone can help.

No problems, departing Sydney on 06 April on QF149 departing at 0945 and returning from LAX 19 April on QF12. Any help is appreciated. Ta.

This post is a good idea.

I am in lovely Tom Price (does the word BUS bring back memories), anyway I am flying out of Paraburdoo on Friday, does anyone have a spare pass I can use to get into the QC club there.:)

LOL @ the old bus thread at Flyertalk. :)
Unfortunately the really interesting thread on that topic is no longer available on FT. The OP deleted his original post and as a result the entire thread seems to have been lost in the ether as it failed to complete the migration to the new FT system a few years back. Its definitely not there any more as I know I was the second post in that thread and know exactly what I typed and it cannot be located through the search function. I even went looking at all the Qantas forum threads in the month that it was originally posted and its not there any more  .

I didn't know there was an older thread. I'm pretty sure that it just didn't make it across when Flyertalk got upgraded.

NB, it would have been fun if someone had done this with the AA plat challenge, when segments were all that you needed.

In any case, QANTAS don't offer the flight number anymore.

actually the "interesting" thread was linked in the thread you linked above. It was originally at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum39/HTML/000085.html which was the 85th thread in the Qantas forum (Forum 39). The thread numbering was all changed with the system upgrade so no longer relevant. But I did track down the original threads number 84 and 86, and 85 is the only thread missing from those numbered less than 150.

It was allegedly not fun at the time for the alleged person who allegedly tried to obtain QF Platinum in this alleged manner

I will be driving myself back in my Hertz rental vehicle, a 100 series landcruiser that is fully mine equipped and earning me around 130 QFF points per day but no SC's unfortunatey. Besides I wouldn't catch the said bus, it is too slow, I can be the last when getting my bags of the carousel (nee ansetts old baggage trolley) and still pass the bus half way and get two drinks in before they lob up in town.

So what did you think of Tom Price NM?:)
