I'll soon have 190,000 Asia Miles & 280,000 Qantas Points.

Seems the best use of AMEX points (300,000 @ 75%) would be to convert to Asia Miles, and then try and find availability for identical RTW fares, one for myself & one for my partner. Will be challenging, yes! However flexible with dates + routes to a fair extent, so we should be able to get the same flights. From the quick investigation I've done with reward flights seems there are some overlaps - although whether Asia Miles & Qantas are both showing the 1 available reward seat I don't know.

Unsure if anyone has does this before, or can forsee any problems?
Or perhaps there's a better way to spend the MR points? From what I've seen RTW is by far the best value for money redemption. Up to 5 flights

The CX version is a lot less flexible than the QF one. The CX one is best used to do the long flights between continents only, with separate side trips needed once you reach a continent, if you are planning to do a big trip. The QF one however would let you include internal flights as long as your total mileage is within the 35000.

It's virtually impossible to hit the 16 segment ticketing limit on the CX version, whereas it's quite easy on the QF version.

That's alright we'd use it for the large flights mainly. It would be doable is the main thing I'm trying to figure out.

Only 5 stops so can't do too many internal flights anyway.

Do you know if any award flight I can find for CX can be included in the RTW fare?
