In a nice coincidence I was watching a video review of Vistara this evening - rated very highly by the way. And lo and behold they served freshly popped popcorn in J.

AA offer pre-packaged popcorn in J as one of the included snack choices. And on flights out of ORD half the plane has a bag of Garrets.

Here's a couple of photos I took flying QF Y on the SYD-LAX A380 early March 2023. It clearly hasn't been deep cleaned since it got the red roo painted on the tail. All that time parked in the desert they could have sent someone with a Dyson and a crevice tool.

Popcorn making a mess doesn't seem like a thing they would be overly concerned about.

I flew Y+ on the return and it was no cleaner on the upper deck (and barely any extra leg room to boot).

Did you point out the lack of the cover to anyone?

You could always pick aircraft that mostly flew to Japan. They were clean. Others, not so much. This sets a pretty low bar, but I guess Alan only has a couple of cleaners in his employ.

As for popcorn, nothing say bogan movie theatre more than the stink of this stuff.
