I was in Sg up till mid April, and things seemed to be pretty normal then. But just this month, there has been lots of reports of issues with taxis/ Grab.

Is anyone aware of early check in at SIN? I am flying AY and can’t find any info. It used to be possible pre-COVID at the SATS premium check in but I am not sure they have reopened.

SYD+1 is pondering that also. QR flight departing around 1am and will need to manage hotel late checkout, quality time at QF 1st and then pre-departure lounge wilderness.

Meanwhile, did SIN drop the $30k Covid travel insurance requirement? I scrolled back and can’t find any recent references. We have an annual multi-trip policy with cover but only one name on the seperate Covid cover letter they sent…

I believe the insurance requirement has been dropped as I couldn't find any reference here: Travelling to Singapore - Overview

I got there at 3.5 hours prior to SQ check-in and no problem. It's all automated now. At least in economy where I mistakenly entered the queue. Bag drop automated too.

Just been into SIN. 30 May 2022 No mention of insurance and no requirement to show any documents.
Was asked for vaccine certificate on arrival. Paper certificate fine. Not QR scanned just scrutinized.

Yep, nor could I. I have a vague recollection that it was officially dropped but can’t remember where I saw that (AFF or another blog).

Useful data point. Thanks!

How’s the outdoor mask wearing going? Are the locals moving on yet?

Both Thailand and Singapore both announced the dropping of pre departure testing and insurance requirements on the same day -friday April 30th. Thailand however just dropped it to $US 10000. Why do I remember it? Because we left on our trip to Thailand on tuesday 4th May so there was much relief in our house at the news.

50% or more not wearing masks outdoors. 100% compliance indoors.

I arrived the next day 1 Jun and there was no check of vaccine certificate. I had uploaded mine as part of the "SG arrival
card" declaration and it was checked and accepted automatically as part of that process. Maybe yours was just a spot check, or did you have trouble uploading it to the online portal ?

I'm sure I uploaded mine too but can't swear to it. Had been through 7 countries by the time we hit Singapore so a bit of a blur!!! 😀😀
The take home message for other AFFrs is pretty much that, if you've had those experimental chemicals injected into your body, most jurisdictions will now let you in with a glance at your Australian certificate!!
