Virgin Blue cautiously optimistic

Budget carrier Virgin Blue says it is cautiously optimistic about its prospects in fiscal 2006.

Chief executive Brett Godfrey told shareholders at Tuesday's annual general meeting in Brisbane that the signs were right for the airline with market capacity more closely aligned with demand.

Thanks JohnK. The comments in Crikey about "settling into the duopoly" are born out by some price checking I did on SYD-MEL fares last week. The lowest fares (Blue Saver) were quite a bit higher than they have been in the past.
