Article: The Best International Lounges at Sydney Airport

Plaza Premium may charge for premium alcoholic drinks and shower so perhaps have a drink and shower at the QF lounge first until it's crowded before heading over to Plaza Premium?

Sounds like a reason to go to the PP lounge over the QF lounge. QF alcoholic drinks are pretty basic without even the option to pay for something better ;)

Would EK mind if you went to the lounge when your plane leaves from the 30s gates? It would mean a long walk back and one hour at most in the lounge?

Flying on MH so not eligible for EK lounge

The only lounge I've been in at SYD is the Amex Centurion lounge. Both times it was very solid. Good range of food, both times it was very quiet, staff are super friendly. Shower facilities were quite nice.

A great spot to relax before a long flight, and if you're taking off from the other end of the terminal, it's good exercise getting to/from the lounge.

These days I usually only get to the QF F lounge flying QF/OW (1st world problems). It’s been ages since I was last in the QF J lounge - but it wasn’t awful but I can imagine it gets pretty crowded with the plethora of QF/OW flights and eligible PAX!

I’ve actually not been to the NZ lounge post reno but it was always a solid lounge - helps being very big v SQ - very small. UA actually used to have there own lounges - a modest J lounge and attached F broom cupboard.

I can understand why some like the EK lounge but I find it a bit meh. Hotel lobby decor but yeah, the buffet is probably better but I’m not a buffet type of person at the best of times.

MH also used to have a lounge but long gone.

The House was pretty good when it was EY but by all accounts, a shadow of its former self…😔

I’ve never been to any other 3rd party lounges and happy it stays that way.

The article mentions Qantas First Lounge access is available to the following passengers departing on Qantas or a oneworld airline.

Can you enter if flying Emirates First? It mentions the Qantas ppl can go to Emirates lounge but not vice versa?

I can answer my own question. I went to the EK lounge at SYD INT when my flight was leaving from the 30s gates. they didn't bat an eyelid! Just said there would be no announcements.
