I'm sorry, this is probably not the right place to ask this but it is sort of related. I'm off to Europe in 3 weeks. Into UK with Qantas and out of Amsterdam with Emirates. i know we have to wear masks on the plane but do they have to be N95 masks or just normal surgical masks? I couldn't find any information on the Qantas website about this and I've heard anecdotally that N95's are required for Emirates.
And thanks everyone for the great up to date country by country info about vaccines passes etc.
From the Emirates website:

You must wear a cloth or medical mask throughout Dubai International airport, during boarding, throughout your flight, and as you leave the aircraft. Children under 6 years old and customers who have certain medical conditions do not have to wear a mask.

Yes, DFAT currently has Iran as Do Not Travel "due to the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel". This has the potential to stuff up my insurance which, in turn, could stuff up my Iranian visa application.

My travel insurance with Covid cover specific states still covered if the only smart traveller warning is for covid. But if the do not travel is for any other reason i.e. terrorism, political instability/war, natural disaster etc then its invalid.

Went to Medicare office yesterday morning and in less than 30 minutes they printed 2 copies of the international covid vaccination certificate.

Should be OK for JQ and entry to Thailand.

We used the typical blue medical masks and a cheap cloth mask on Emirates and in Dubai.
Emirates offer this same mask to us onboard, even in Italy where N95 is supposed to be used on public transport no one has questioned the standard masks.

No test required to enter Germany if fully vaxed. Where are you flying transiting?

They’re “OR” statements relating to vax, testing, recovered.

The German website states the same but a little more convoluted.

Singapore. I thought so too but article on Executive Traveller yesterday said you did for Germany so that is why I started getting confused.

I recall that was relating to masks in airports and onboard. EU has followed the UK and removed the mask mandate but Germany is sticking with it for the time being.

As Indonesia has just been granted EU equivalency for its vax certs, here is one possible* trick to obtain a free EUDCC for those going to Indonesia in the near future (as you'll be asked to do most of these steps anyway):
  1. Register your Aussie shots as overseas vaccinations at the Indonesian MoH's portal - Non‐Indonesia Vaccination Verification
  2. Register an account on the PeduliLindungi app (PeduliLindungi). Make sure the passport numbers (or Resident Number if you're an Indo PR/Citizen) match on both the app and registration portal
  3. Wait a few days to a few weeks for your vaccination records to be approved. You'll get an email letting you know.
  4. Once approved, open the PeduliLindungi app.
  5. Navigate to "COVID-19 Vaccine" > "Vaccine Certificate" > "Overseas Travel Certificate - Convert My Certificate"
  6. Select an EU Country (e.g. Netherlands), then select EU certificate.
  7. Follow instructions to get your EUDCC certificate issued (involves confirming your passport details and name as typed out on the passport's MRZ).
  8. Done! Use the QR code as an EUDCC, scan it on the respective EU country's COVID apps (Can confirm it works with the Swiss, Slovak, Belgian and Irish ones), or import it into the iOS Health app.
* Can confirm it works as an Indonesian citizen who was vaxxed in Australia.

Flew into CDG last week and wasn’t even asked for the certificate. That’s on top of not being asked to see it at check in at BNE - just asked if we had it. So seems it may be going the way of the dodo for France at least.

Flying from CDG-NAP we were asked to upload the certificates the day before to speed up the check in process. Australian certificate was accepted. Unsure what would have been asked had we not uploaded, whether they would have insisted someone at the airport physically see them or whether the self-serve bag drop would have proceeded as usual.

I'm confused that the French Consulate site is still saying "Since 1 February 2022, people aged 18 or over who wish to enter French territory must have received a booster dose of an mRNA vaccine no later than 9 months after the last required dose to be considered fully vaccinated." We had our booster in January 2022 and will be travelling there in December, beyond the 9 months. Of course still not eligible for a 4th booster here as yet, and given I had a nasty inflammation response to my Pfizer booster, my Dr has said be cautious considering the pros and cons of having a 4th mRNA booster. Has any traveller to date not had a booster and encountered this. Thoughts going forward? I notice Australia is practically the only country left on the orange list which is ironic given the number of daily cases in several European countries and overseas.

Just realised we will be flying in to Frankfurt and travelling to France by train then train to UK then flying back to Germany for international flight out so may circumnavigate this unless they have instituted some inter-EU border check (highly unlikely). I also note the German requirement is from 1 October 2022, three vaccination doses; the last vaccination dose must be administered at least three months after the second one - so we are OK there. Work around if it becomes an issue will be getting a negative PCR test somewhere I guess.

Go onto Trip Advisor and go to French Forums and there is a heap of info but as your travelling from GER i wouldn't worry 2 much.
