Hello,

I have a flight from MEL to LHR with a 4 hour stopover in DOH in late Jan in business. The flight arrives in at 04.10am and having read some feedback on the availability of showers in the Al Mourjan lounge is it possible to pass through immigration use the arrivals lounge and then come back through ?

And more importantly is it worth doing this or should I just chance my luck at that time in the morning ?

Thanks all

The lounge is airside (inside security) so if you are in transit you won't be going through immigration.

Depends on the layover time you have. Sometimes the showers can be busy depending on how many A380s land at the same time. If you do end up going there, be aware there are at least two sets of showers in different locations in the lounge, so if one set are busy, try the others.

I don't think it would be worth going out through immigration, even if you could (not sure, but doubt).

4am is one of the peak times at DOH but very recently they have opened 3 new lounges on the extended C Concourse, which now extends over 0.5km beyond where Al Mourjan is. If your arrival is one of the outer C gates, then one of these new lounges might be best; I'm not on top of what their access it, but I've no doubt at least one would cater for QR business. 🙂 . But if you arrive closer to the base of the terminal (where the concourses join), then hopefully the pressure will be off Al Mourjan. Don't forget there are 2 shower areas - one opposite the entry and the other at the back of the cafe area at the end. If they don't direct you to the other if one is full, wander down.

TL;DR - I'd chance it.
