Arrival into LAX any Lounge Access for Same Day Domestic Flight?

I have an Business class award flight coming up with VA in December from MEL-LAX. I will be buying a domestic business/first class ticket to continue onto Las Vegas. As domestic flights within the US don’t come with lounge access, unless trans con, would I be allowed access into the Delta lounge in LAX if I purchase a Delta first class ticket to Las Vegas and show my Virgin Australia Business class boarding pass?

Nope, definitely not. As far as Delta is concerned the VA flight is history and also not connected to them in any way.
Do you have Gold or Platinum status with VA? That would get you into the Delta lounge. Also, an AmEx Platinum Charge card would as well.

Domestic flights with Delta do come with SkyClub access for VA Gold and Plats. A business ticket won't get you in but you could still try and charm your way in.

Thanks both. I have no status with VA and was hoping the combination of a just arrived business class flight on VA and an onward paid flight with Delta would get me in but it would seem from the above that ain't possible, Looks like my only option is to pay for lounge entry and at $59 USD to get in I may just forgo the lounge.
