Hi, Looking for around the world fares for 2016. What is the best time to purchase and best prices? We prefer to fly with Virgin/Star Alliance and was thinking of BNE-SIN-LHR-JFK-LAX-BNE?

VA do not have a RTW fare at the moment. You should be looking at a *A fare.

Personally I haven't noticed much difference in time to purchase. As vantage says, Swiss are a good start.

There is very little variation in price, by nature, with RTW fares.

You could probably get a star alliance RTW "Special" fare in business class if you travel under 26,000 miles in total. Your itinerary above racks up 23,669 miles so that is certainly doable. Otherwise, have a look at Singapore/VA RTW fares, or Swiss or Lufthansa.
