ARIA Sydney...Disappointing experience

My recommendations in sydney are sepia (yum, went a few nights ago) and Bentley.

Would agree with Bentley, went to Aria and Bentley in the same month a while ago, Bentlley half the price of Aria (or thereabouts) and twice as good.

Was going to put this in the Sydney thread however, it's been locked. Came across this thread which looks like it's morphed into a Sydney thread.....

We're burning a few Hyatt points in May so yesterday I called a couple of restaurants to secure bookings.

Quay - Friday evenings booked until July....Saturday evenings booked until August :shock: Luckily we wanted lunch on a Friday! Booked and looking forward to it.

RockPool (want to check out the new Bridge St Location) - We don't take booking more then 3 months out, please call back. She didn't like my smart cough comment "you're not as busy as Quay then"

Speaking as an ex-waiter, that's that type of comment that sometimes gets spit in your food!

My personal rule is never upset people who bring you food/drink until you have finished eating!

No surprises here. Restaurant in Melb burns down. Situation means they need to refocus on rebuilding home base rather than expand to something way bigger than they've had before. Restauranteurs aren't known for having endless cash and resources at their disposal..!

We could not get in to Aria last weekend so we had a lovely meal at the Stamford up the street. We pre-loaded with Verve Cliquot as it was a birthday for a friend. The chocolate implosion dessert is very chocolatey if that is a word.
