Are you going to Armidale?

First for me tonight. QF2178 Sydney to Port Macquarie. We all get on the bus and off to the plane. Boarding seems normal and settle in ready to go. The cabin attendant then asks the 2 blokes in row 1 "Are young going to Armidale?". They have a bit of a laugh thinking she is having a joke. After a couple of minutes the pilot comes on the PA and apologises as the bus has brought us to the wrong plane.
Didn't take long to sort out anyway and we had an extra 20 metre bus ride to our correct plane. The flight was very pleasant after all that and we arrived in pqq out 15 minutes late

Have had FA anounce the wrong place when arriving at PQQ on a couple of occasions. Fifteen minutes late is pretty good for PQQ!

Ha! Passengers on my regular flights to Armidale often have to correct the drivers. "Oh, they have sent Armidale down, not xx_". Reminds me of flight a late passenger rushed into the flight as the last, late passenger on a flight to ARM. FA quick as flash said "Port Macquarie". Passenger went pale as the first 2 rows and a good laugh. Some of the best FA's on QLink.

Are the changes to around gate 16 or 18(?) going to reduce the chance of the livestock transporters?

I wonder why it took so long for them to realise you were on the wrong plane. Wouldn't the FA have checked everyone's boarding passes as you got on?

Have had FA anounce the wrong place when arriving at PQQ on a couple of occasions. Fifteen minutes late is pretty good for PQQ!

And the Armidale flight was only 15 minutes late, almost early!

I think they let everyone board and then sorted it out so that there wasn't a crowd milling around on the tarmac

Shows the FA didn't pay much attention when boarding and "viewing" the BP's as QF/QF* are supposed to do. I think the BP saying anything but Armidale would have been a give away.

On occasion where I was scheduled to fly to Armidale I've been flown to Tamworth. Think I would have preferred Pt Macquarie.

I find this odd too as I've always been asked to show boarding pass and I've seen the queue held up by someone having to get it on their mobile phone to show to the FA. Guess they are only checking seat numbers and not flight details if in a hurry to board?

I think the FA did realise something was odd with the BPs but let everyone on then did something about it so we weren't standing around outside the plane. The captain did say they were considering a couple of options ut in the end moved the passengers as the bags had been loaded on the correct plane. I thought they made a good recovery.
