While doing some searches on theqantassource.com, I came across this:

WOW! Those are some flights for a Dash-8! Wonder what on earth is going on here?

Wow, long haul international on a Dash 8, yeah I'll pass :D

I try and avoid them CBR-SYD -- would not enjoy a SIN-SYD flight (especially if expecting a refurbed J!!).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It seems to me that the discrepancies are due to the different callsigns used by the QF Link aircraft. For example, I believe that QF2003 (TMW-SYD) would use the callsign "Q-Link 3 Delta"

And only 2 abreast. Very egitilarian.
Port Moresby to Cairns can be done with a Dash8 400ER couldn't it, if something like that existed.

Actually, this route already exists. QF191/QF192 operates almost daily between CNS and POM using a regular Q400 - no Dash 8-ERs required. ;)

No fun flying into a storm on a Dash 8. I've done cat 9 typhoon on 767 no probs but was turning green on Dash 8 out of Canberra during a storm - all I can say is, thank goodness it was only a short flight.
