Arctic cruise research

Is that medical form for Ponant required for all their cruiases, or was it specific for the Antarctic one?
From what I gather, specific for Antarctica. It is listed in the cruise contract info so should be easy to check if needed for anywhere else.
Sikversea (and others) have them but you can fill them out yourself not have to rely on the GP.

Not required for our Ponant South Georgia/Antarctica itinerary in dec 2022.

Definitely want to do Svalbard et al soon ... just keeping an eye out for good deals!

Interesting you didn't require this - maybe Ponant has changed its requirement. It was a bit of a pain as I don't attend a GP often at all and so she was a bit miffed at having to fill out the form.

Yes I think it must be recently changed; we had some paperwork that said you needed an ECG before being allowed to do the polar plunge. I asked the travel agent to clarify that, and they said no longer required.

Not that we got to do it - never had a weather window. So have to go back! (have done arctic, need to do antarctic).

I didn't need an ECG to know that my cardiologist would say "no". :)
Currently my cardiologist is my landlord / roommate .... and he loves my cooking so I reckon I'd get away with it 🤣

Sooooo .... anyone found any good deals lately? I'm unashamed to admit I'll jump on someone elses bandwagon ...

As a solo traveller, the Ponant voyage I linked to in post 20 is good deal ( no single supplement - and a number of voyages at that time to choose from) but for a couple that might just be meh.

I avoided any cruise that spent more than one night in Iceland as I’ve been there a couple of times already. I really wanted to include Greenland with Svalbard, but that was nearly impossible except for a long, very expensive cruise.
